True Beauty

My “True Beauty” series was intended to be a composite of beauty and nature. I had hoped to capture the dichotomy between what is often considered beautiful and what most are fearful of. My original concept was to incorporate several bug species into each photo during postproduction. When arriving at the studio Nicole, the make-up artist, and myself sat down and picked out eye shadows that would work for each bug. For example, I was going to use bumblebees for the black eye shadow. When finishing this series I realized that the images were so striking on their own that I decided not to put the bugs in after all. You can view more images of Robyn Connor on her agency's website:

Mande

This concept came about when I was at my family's home and noticed that the hat rack had just been restocked with antique womens hats that I hadn't seen before. This sparked my curiosity and got me thinking about who might have worn these hats. In my mind, each hat represented a different personality. The two shots below recreate a style and its time period.

Barber Shop

My “Barber Shop” series is my ongoing personal project. I decided to shoot this series, as I was enthralled with culture within the different shops. This is the first set of images that I have shot. I look forward to continuing “Barber Shop.”

Brady

In this series I wanted to capture various expressions. I thought that together Brady and I were successful in creating a series of strong editorial images. You can check out more images of Brady on his agency’s website:
